Hello and Happy Monday.
My name is Kim and I am back to blogging after a many year break. Retirement does tend to give one some extra time for old hobbies to return.
I am currently on a 4 week vacation with my husband…. Traveling from Indiana to Washington State to visit 2/4 of our children and their families. Currently we are with my daughter in Central Washington and it is a desert and VERY hot right now.
The Weather:
Currently 101 degrees with a red flag warning for high winds, which means huge potential for wild fires. Tomorrow we are traveling to see our son and family who live south of Seattle and it will be much cooler… mid to upper 70’s.
As I Look Out My Window:
I see pastures across from Sarah’s house, and pre-gale force winds gently blowing through her lacey like Ash Trees.
Right Now I Am:
Visiting with my Sarah and my granddaughters. We are looking at ballet variations on youtube for possible dance recital performances next year. 🩰
Thinking And Pondering:
How much I love being a Mimi, to 6 with a 7th coming in November! I’m also thinking about how proud I am of these 3 with their dance skill. Mama ( my Sarah) started taking lessons in 2021 and dances a number with her 3 beauties each year in the June recital. This picture is from this weekend when she danced, and she is 4 months pregnant!
On My Bedside Table:
Listening To:
The band, Relient K, granddaughter’s choice!
On The Menu:
Tonight an Asian Chicken salad and a Broccoli salad. I have no idea about the rest of the week, since we will be at my son’s house. I have been loving this long break from cooking every night!
On My To Do List:
- Decide on knitting plans from July to June 2026, in order to join a challenge group on Ravelry.
- Finish hanging laundry on the line so I can start packing to leave tomorrow. Did I mention it’s 101!!?? Sarah’s home does not have central AC so there is no running of the dryer!
What Am I Creating:
On my needles I have a Dodo Shawl for me, and a Bambino Milo vest for grandbaby #7. For cross stitch I have been focused in my August block which is part of a series by Pine Mountain Designs.
My Simple Pleasure:
Spending time with my daughter!
Looking Around The House:
I plan to vacuum for my daughter and start packing up to leave.
From the Camera:
Linking up with Sandra today:

That’s all for now….
Cheers
How special to share each others lives, strengthening the bonds of being women in a family.

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I'm so glad I checked out this post as I'm catching up here on your new blog, Kim. These are the three little girls I remember from when I first met you in the Ravelry YOP group! How did they grow up so fast? Your daughter and her daughters are beautiful. And how wonderful that they can all enjoy dance.
