Homemaker Monday

We are 1/2 way through June! What? How? We have been gone from home for almost a month and that really messes with my concept of time but still, 2025 is flying !

The Weather:

We are currently visiting our son and his family just south of Seattle, and it is very pleasant, partly cloudy/no wind/temperature in low 70’s. It will not be this pleasant when we arrive back Indiana this coming weekend!

As I Look Out My Window:

Right now I am eating lunch at our favorite little Chinese place which I missed so much since moving, so my view is a parking lot. But here is a photo of my view yesterday. ♥️

Right Now I Am:

Eating lunch with my favorite guy!

Thinking And Pondering:

What a mess our country is in right now. How much I am going to miss our Washington kids and grandkids when we leave tomorrow. How I have only cross stitched one time in the almost month we have been gone but that knitting is surely my travel/vacation choice every time.

On My Bedside:

My book, my Kindle, 1/2 drunk bottle of powerade and a bottle of Tums.

On My TV:

We have not watched tv in a week, but we are looking forward to resuming The News Room when we get back home. I have also been keeping up with the news on my favorite Youtube channels. We do not watch fox or any other mainstream news channels anymore.

Menu:

Nothing here because starting tomorrow it will be road trip mode for 5 days! I did purchase this magazine on our trip and look forward to trying a couple of recipes from it. We love a good bowl.

O

I Am Listening To:

Smooth Jazz in the restaraunt but tomorrow we start an audio book for our drive. It is the recently released final installment of the Maisie Dobbs series.

On My To-Do-List:

  1. Pack my small suitcase for the trip home. We don’t lug our big suitcases into the hotel each night.
  2. Buy snacks for the car trip
  3. Love on my 2 little sweeties, Penelope and Cash one more day.

What I Am Creating;

Still knitting my Dodo shawl

Purchased some goodies at my old needlework store here in town.

Knit Picks is having a big sale so I purchased 2 sweater quantities for myself. The pattern I’m planning to use is called Tild on Ravelry. Each sweater will cost me $10 each!

My Simple Pleasure:

Hearing my littles squeal and giggle and calling Mimi to come play!

From The Camera:

My Hibiscus blooming back home:

Have a wonderful week everyone!

  1. It is very hard when your kids/grandkids are spread across the country, makes for a heart divided. It’s so wonderful that you could take time to travel to loved ones far away strengthening the relationships & bonds of family. Safe journey home.

  3. That is not expensive for the sweaters! Here the wool is sooo expensive. That magazine seems very intersting. Glad you got some nice time with your family. Have a good trip back home.

  5. Welcome back to the now very hot Midwest! How good that you could visit your kids and grands in Washington. That is beautiful yarn - and quite a deal. You intrigued me enough that I took a peek at the Knit Picks website, but I back right back out. I must. not. buy. more. yarn. :)
