Year of Projects: Season 15 2025 Week One

Year Of Projects begins today! I used to be a member of this challenge group oh-so many years ago and now that I am retired, I have time for such things again.

This is a Ravelry group, and the purpose is to gather up, originally, our making goals in a list, work on them and post an update every Sunday.

My list will contain knitting projects and cross stitching projects. I may even give some book reading updates too. My lists are ⬇️ and are subject to change.

Knitting:

➡️Tild Sweater by Orlene Succhefor myself, yarn already purchased

➡️Tendrils Shawl by Ash Alberg

➡️ Small Flower Mitts: I have started these 4 times and frogged then because my colorwork in the cuffs always ends up too tight. But I am determined!

➡️ Granny’s Favorite by Georgie Nicolson for my granddaughter Juni.

➡️ Knit One Purl Two Mitts by Julie M. Ross—- I plan to embelish with a few beads

➡️ Fall Leaves garland by Bobbi InVeld

➡️ Finish Dodo Shawl by Heidi Alander

➡️ Sweat Anenome Shawl

➡️ Lunula Shawl

➡️ Stuffies for grandchildren: possible designs by Esther Joy Knits, Little Cotton Rabbits or Susan B. Anderson or Ekaterina Popova

➡️ Bambino Milo by Georgie Nicolson

Cross Stitch is split up in two parts. The first part are patterns I’m committed to finish by January 2026–part of a January to January facebook challenge. The second part is patterns I will probably choose for 2026/2027 year.

Part One:

Pinetree Mountain calendar piece

Jardin Prive

Finish Beading on Thanksgiving Fairy

Finish Sunflower Fairy

Finish scissor fob

Finish Cardinal

Finish Halloween Fairy

Finish Maggie Mae

****************************

Part Two

Ring Around The Rosie

Gathering Eggs

Abide in Love

Honey of a Tiny Town

Natures Journey

Lady Bug (on pink fabric )

That’s it! Of course all plans are subject to change.😂 I think it’s going to be a great year!

And for cuteness, here are a couple of snaps from the 4th of July ♥️

  1. So nice.ro have you back. Seems your family has and is growing since last time I read your blog. You have a great list. I love your cross stitching and look forward to seeing it. Do you still podcast with Sarah? I kind of lost touch with many of my crafty things when my son wss diagnosed with terminal brain cancer.

    1. It’s so nice to connect again! Our family has grown alot since 2020…. We gained our 3rd daughter in law and now all 4 kids are married… we added 3 more grandkids and another one is coming in November which brings us to 7! Sarah and I do not flosstube anymore… our move to Indiana made it a 3 hour time difference which was really hard, especially with her busy schedule with 3 teenage girls. She is actually the one expecting a baby this Fall… there is a 12 year age gap between this baby and her next youngest, Rosie! She is finally getting her boy! I will be praying for your family as you walk this difficult journey.

  3. That’s a lovely list of projects to work on this year. Have you tried going up a needle size for the colourwork section? That’s what I usually do in colourwork projects and it works well for me. Lovely to see you back.

  4. Glad you're able to participate in YOP this year - Looking forward to another cross-stitcher's projects too! Are the 2 fairies Joan Eliot x-stitch patterns or another designer?

  5. Hi there! Lovely plans - so many pretty shawls. If I were going to knit those colorwork mitts, I’d knit the color work section with the project inside out so that the yarn floats are carried on the outside as it’s worked. That keeps me from pulling the yarns too tightly. G’luck!

    1. Hi! I have never heard of knitting it inside out… I’m so spatially challenged that I can’t wrap my head around that. 🤣
