Here we are, Sunday, and time to do a little crafty update.
I had a houseful of company over last weekend, until Tuesday. Boy was I exhausted and it took me a couple days to recover— it didn’t help that I had to take my semiglutide injection on Tuesday night.
It has been super hot and HUMID here in Indiana and has been since we returned home from our road trip last month. Lots of needlework as I enjoy the air conditioning in my house. Thank goodness for that!
First up is my Dodo Shawl, pattern by Sadelma Knits on Ravelry…. and the yarn is a Tosh Light in the colorway Harvest. I really love this pattern and the color I chose. It is a nice combination of garter sections and lace sections….and stitch markers are my friend in those lace sections!
In my stitchy world, I completed the August block in my epically big calendar piece. The designer is Pine Mountain Designs and it is her Snapshot series. There are 12 patterns, one for each month, and I am stitching them all on one piece of fabric!
I also have a four seasons piece I’m hoping to finish before September. The designer is Jardin Privé. The first photo is of Autumn which is the last panel to be completed. I’m also showing you the other 3 seasons and then a photo of it all together, which is hard because it is so big. These were released as 4 seperate patterns, but once again, I chose to do them all on one piece of fabric. I really enjoy monthly and 4 seasons stitching.
And that pretty much wraps up my crafty life from last week. As usual, I am linking up with the Year of Projects group over at Ravelry.
Have a super week everyone! And stay cool in this awful summer heat. And stay safe if you are facing summer storms. ♥️
I like the idea of doing both of those pieces on one cloth. Makes for great continuity. Your shawl will be perfect for cool evenings or in buildings where they think subzero AC is the way to go.Does the semiglutide make you tired? My daughter takes ozempic for her diabetes. Is this the same thing? My biweekly Enbrel injection usually gives me a little boost for a few days. So I look forward to the weeks I take it.
ReplyDeleteKim I really like how the shawl is beginning to look, the combination of gerter stitch and lace in the solid colour is really lovely. I adore how your stitched pieces are coming and I love the idea that you have chosen to work both the calendar and the the season pieces as one large piece on a single piece of fabric. Will you turn them into cushions/pillows or will you look to frame the pieces?
ReplyDeleteWow these are both going to look incredible as large finished pieces. It’s a great idea to do them on the same fabric as they’ll be works of art to display. The months look great and I was thinking how amazing it is you are a month ahead already, but of course I’m not sure when you started it. My last cross stitch took me about 10 years and had nowhere near as many stitches.
ReplyDeleteThe shawl is coming along nicely. I’m a fan of garter and lace combinations. I love the way they work up. Your needlework is beautiful. I like how you’ve combined them as one piece. Will they be wall hangings?
ReplyDeleteYour stitch work is beautiful and I have added that Dodo shawl to my queue.
